Ashwagandha | An Adaptogen To Combat Stress

We all know that life can be really stressful and it’s during those times when I need a little bit of extra help to combat the stress that I love to use Ashwagandha – a great adaptogen to have on hand.


This adaptogen is powerful at combating the effects of stress. Medical studies have shown that Ashwagandha improves cortisol levels and can naturally balance your hormones (whether testosterone or estrogen) and that means that it has a great effect on balancing the thyroid as well, that will lead to lower anxiety and depression. It can help you sleep, can improve fertility, and it may even restore pigment to graying hair.

Two of my favorite recipes with Ashwagandha are:

Ashwagandha Maple Milk:

  •  2 cups milk alternative
  •  2 tablespoons maple syrup
  •  1/2 teaspoon ashwagandha
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon

Blend them together and yum!


Ashwagandha Tea:

Add ashwagandha to hot water and top with frothed coconut milk.


So remember, don’t stress, just progress, and let Ashwagandha do the rest.
