Sexy, Feminine and Fun Fitness Fashion Trends
I have the blessing of living out my day in stretch, lycra, and padded kicks with my carrer in the fitness industry. Even when given the opportunity to dress up, I now find myself putting on a t-shirt and flats. It’s like that old saying, “once you go flat you never go back.” Luckily, the fitness clothing industry has developed with the times and you can find plenty of fabulous fitness gear that can be worn in the gym or out to dinner. Clothing is made to to be efficient for exercise movements, but also sexy, feminine, and fun! I’ve put a list together of my favorite lines from designer to discount.
1. Ellie Active Wear
Ellie offers high-quality, affordable activewear inspired by the latest fashion trends from the runway to the gym. Each month, Ellie launches a new and unique 24-piece collection. You can buy each piece individually, or sign up for their Fit Fashionista Club and select ANY TWO items for only $49.95 per month. Since each collection is only available for one month, you and your clothes will be the center of attention of athletic onlookers for months to come! 20% Discount from Ellie. Look good and feel great!
March is LBC month -Little Black Collection – and we all know you can’t have enough black workout clothes for those days we feel a little extra “puffy”! My favorite pieces this month are the Black Swan Tank and Back in Black Tank. Check them out by clicking the link above or the pictures below.
I have a million sports bras, because well something needs to hold my boobs up while I bounce through my day. Those old suffocating granny panty bras that are out. In fact, I have such cute sports bras I end up wearing them under a loose T-shirt out to dine. VPL, Michi, and Alexander Wang make some of my favorites. However, if you don’t want to break the bank check out Victoria Secret’s fashionable and feminine bralettes.
Although VLP makes lingerie that appears sexy and flirty, this is not your traditional lingerie. Made out of a cotton/lycra blend, these bras are comfortable and adorable, and feel great under a loose t-shirt. Whether getting active or running errands, VLP bras are your best bet. And bonus: VLP makes all of their apparel in the USA!
Michi Feline Bra
The futuristic, edgy style that Michi brings to it’s attire are a stand-out choice for any fitness fashionista. The angled cutouts give this bra an interesting form, and the nylon/spandex material make it movable. Wear it to yoga, or underneath your favorite sheer shirt.
Here’s a few other fun brands: Collina Strada Quura, Anthony Vaccarello, Alexander Wang, Alexander Wang, VPL, Anthony Vaccarello.
Victoria Secret VSX Sport
Nothing says chic and affordable like Victoria’s Secret’s fitness attire. Already a leading name in bras and lingerie, Victoria’s Secret is also becoming a leading name in active wear with their VSX Sport line. Great fits, colors that pop and a low price tag are only a few reasons why VSX Sport should be folded in the drawers of any fitness fashionista.
Spring 2013 fashion is all about peek-a-boo cutouts and prints. Bring the runway to your workout with these cool pants.
These Michi Carve Leggings fuse sheer mesh and nylon/spandex materials that will add a fiery flavor to any workout. Or, if you’ve already hit the gym that day, dress these leggings up with your favorite slouchy sweater and a pair of boots for a casual-yet-cool nighttime ensemble.
You don’t have to stick to boring black to feel skinny. Ellie has designed cool pants that are bold with their color, but the subtle lines create the image of a more slender physique.
Nike has so many great prints out lately who can pick just one! But, I do have a favorite. These are just amazeballs!
The Karma ‘San Suu’ jacket is the perfect jacket for a trip to the gym or a casual night out. The sleek cut and nylon/spandex material make this jacket cute yet active. The stand collar and side ruffle make it a chic alternative to other fitness jackets, aiding in a seamless day-to-night wardrobe transition.
If you have new cool brands you love, give me a shout. I want to hear what brands make you feel confident and hopefully motivate a great workout!
