Bullock's Balanced Body: Tip # 2 Kidney Detox

On a daily basis, our bodies are detoxifying naturally, to eliminate and neutralize toxins that are caused from exposure to pollutions in the air, water and food we eat.

Kidneys are among the vital organs that help our bodies get rid of these toxins. They help process food, medications, alcohol and so much more. Overall, their job is to keep our bodies healthy, which is why it’s important for us to help them in this process and nurture them with healthy, nutrient dense foods that help in the detoxifying process.

More specifically, cleansing the kidneys helps prevent kidney infection and kidney stone formation. It also boosts immunity and flushes away toxins.

There are a variety of foods that help detoxify the kidneys too.

My favorites are:

Kidney cleansing Kale, Coconut & Lemon Smoothie













  • 1 coconut water
  • 1/2 lemon, peeled and seeded
  • 1/2 lime, peeled and seeded
  • 1 fresh or frozen banana
  • 1 cup kale, stems removed
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger spice or fresh ginger, grated



  1. Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth!
